When Kurt Wahlner moved to Pomona in 2010, the main library there had the LA Times on microfilm, which allowed Kurt to write down all the films to play there over the years, One thing lead to another and. . .

After drawing buildings for years and years, a publishing buddy who knew of Kurt’s work suggested he draw something for the new publishing company he and his wife were starting.  Seven years later. . .

Inside Our White House is in stores this November 3! Its list price is $24.99. This over-sized hardcover (we mean it!) takes readers on a tour of the White House via Kurt’s impeccably researched drawings, which will blow your mind no matter how old you are, if you have never been to the White House, or if you have worked there for 40 years!

"You've never Experienced the White House like this."
—former deputy director, the White House, Robert S. Martin

"I learned new things about the building from Kurt's drawings even after working there for twenty years."
—former associate curator of decorative arts, the White House, Melissa Naulin

Being a son of Hollywood, Kurt got the idea that it might be fun to film his process as he went along. His YouTube channel has hours and hours of him drawing and explaining his working methods and sharing odd bits of White House history. Check them out at: youtube.com/@kurtswhitehouse

Inside Our White House is published by Bushel & Peck Books. They have a wonderful website featuring all their children's books, including one for Kurt's book: bushelandpeckbooks.com
